Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is urging constituents not to be fooled by scam emails.
Mr Rowlands, has added his voice to a warning from North Wales Police about fraudulent messages claiming recipients have won a free M&S hamper.
He said:
These days more than ever we all have to be on the lookout for scammers and be especially aware of fake emails which can appear to offer you a good deal but the offers do not exist.
I would urge anyone not to be fooled if they receive a message claiming to be from M&S congratulating them on being chosen for a chance to win a free afternoon tea hamper.
It is extremely annoying that there are unscrupulous people out there attempting to scam the public like this and I am happy to highlight this particular problem.
Please be very careful when you receive any messages and always double check if you are not sure of the sources. Remember if something looks too good to be true then it usually is.
The email says it is a special offer from M&S saying you have been chosen for an exclusive chance to receive an afternoon tea letterbox hamper by filling in a quick survey.
Dewi Owen, North Wales Police, Cyber Crime Officer, North Wales Police is warning people to avoid clicking on the !ink as It will lead to a fraudulent website that will attempt to steal your personal and/or financial information.
If you can, report any suspicious emails that you receive by forwarding them to [email protected].
Sam Rowlands AS yn tynnu sylw at bryder am sgamiau hamperi bwyd
Mae Sam Rowlands, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros y Gogledd, yn annog etholwyr i beidio â chael eu twyllo gan negeseuon e-bost sgâm.
Mae Mr Rowlands wedi ychwanegu ei lais at rybudd gan Heddlu Gogledd Cymru am negeseuon twyllodrus sy'n honni bod derbynwyr wedi ennill hamper M&S am ddim.
Meddai:
Mae’n rhaid i ni fod yn fwy gwyliadwrus nag erioed bellach am sgamwyr a bod yn arbennig o effro i negeseuon e-bost ffug sy'n gallu ymddangos fel petaen nhw’n cynnig bargen dda i chi ond yn gwbl ffug.
Byddwn yn annog unrhyw un i beidio â chael eich twyllo os ydych chi’n derbyn neges yn honni ei bod gan M&S, yn eich llongyfarch ar gael eich dewis am gyfle i ennill hamper te prynhawn am ddim.
Mae'n hynod annifyr bod yna bobl ddiegwyddor allan yna sy’n ceisio twyllo'r cyhoedd fel hyn ac rwy'n hapus i dynnu sylw at y broblem benodol hon.
Byddwch yn ofalus iawn pan fyddwch chi'n derbyn unrhyw negeseuon a gwiriwch bob amser os nad ydych chi'n siŵr o'r ffynonellau. Cofiwch, os yw rhywbeth yn edrych yn rhy dda i fod yn wir – yna mae o fel arfer.
Mae'r e-bost yn dweud ei bod yn cynnwys cynnig arbennig gan M&S sy'n eich hysbysu eich bod wedi cael eich dewis ar gyfer cyfle unigryw i dderbyn hamper te prynhawn yn y post, a hynny trwy lenwi arolwg cyflym.
Mae Dewi Owen, Swyddog Seiberdroseddau Heddlu Gogledd Cymru, yn rhybuddio pobl i osgoi clicio ar y ddolen oherwydd bydd yn arwain at wefan dwyllodrus a fydd yn ceisio dwyn eich gwybodaeth bersonol a/neu ariannol.
Os gallwch chi, rhowch wybod am unrhyw negeseuon e-bost amheus rydych chi'n eu derbyn trwy eu hanfon ymlaen i [email protected].
