Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is backing a call for dog owners to look after their pets during hot weather.

With temperatures continuing to rise, the RSPCA is reminding dog owners to take extra care to protect their pets' welfare.

Mr Rowlands, a dog owner, supports the call to never leave a dog in a car on a hot day and always be careful around walking them during spells of warm weather.

He said:

I am a great supporter of the work of the RSPCA and more than happy to help raise awareness on this issue to ensure the welfare of our pets.

We are currently in the grip of a hot spell of weather so this message acts as a timely reminder for this time of the year and I would urge my constituents to be aware.

The RSPCA is reminding dog owners to take extra precautions to protect the welfare of their pets during spells of hot weather over the coming months and weeks.

They are urging people to never leave a dog in a car on a hot day and always be careful around walking them during spells of warm weather.

Sam Rowlands AS yn annog etholwyr i gymryd gofal ychwanegol o'u hanifeiliaid anwes yn ystod misoedd yr haf

Mae Sam Rowlands, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros y Gogledd, yn cefnogi galwad ar berchnogion cŵn i ofalu am eu hanifeiliaid anwes yn ystod y tywydd poeth.

Gyda'r tymheredd yn parhau i godi, mae'r RSPCA yn atgoffa perchnogion cŵn i gymryd gofal ychwanegol i amddiffyn lles eu hanifeiliaid anwes.

Mae Mr Rowlands, perchennog cŵn ei hun, yn cefnogi'r alwad i beidio byth â gadael ci mewn car ar ddiwrnod poeth ac i fod yn ofalus wrth fynd â chi am dro yn y tywydd cynnes.

Meddai:

Rwy'n gefnogwr mawr o waith yr RSPCA ac yn fwy na pharod i helpu i godi ymwybyddiaeth o’r mater hwn i sicrhau lles ein hanifeiliaid anwes.

Rydyn ni ar hyn o bryd yng nghanol cyfnod poeth felly mae'r neges hon yn amserol ar gyfer yr adeg hon o'r flwyddyn a byddwn yn annog fy etholwyr i fod yn ymwybodol o’r peryglon.

Mae'r RSPCA yn atgoffa perchnogion cŵn i gymryd rhagofalon ychwanegol i ddiogelu lles eu hanifeiliaid anwes yn ystod cyfnodau o dywydd poeth dros y misoedd a'r wythnosau nesaf.

Maen nhw'n annog pobl i beidio byth â gadael ci mewn car ar ddiwrnod poeth ac i fod yn ofalus bob amser wrth fynd â’u cŵn am dro yn ystod y tywydd poeth.
