Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, has been seeing at firsthand how development of a new state of the art smokery is progressing at an Anglesey salt producer.

Mr Rowlands, a big supporter of Welsh food and drink producers, recently visited the Brynsiencyn site of Halen Môn Anglesey Sea Salt to view the new purpose built unit.

He said:

I was delighted to have the opportunity to once again visit this highly successful and impressive business which continues to go from strength to strength.

I was shown where work is progressing on the building for the new smokery which is a significant investment for the salt producing company.

It was great to catch up with Managing Director, Alison Lea-Wilson who showed me round the site and explained how the new development would improve operational efficiency and aid future product development and innovation.

It really is good to see such a successful business continuing to expand and evolve putting Anglesey and North Wales firmly on the food producers’s map.

Halen Môn, Anglesey Sea Salt was first launched in 2008 and is famous for producing hand-harvested, organic-approved Welsh sea salt made from Anglesey sea water and absolutely nothing else

The pure sea salt is hand-harvested from the crystal clear waters of the Irish Sea and this commitment to quality has earned them recognition from some of the most respected organisations in the food and drink industry, including The Guild of Fine Food.

The company has received numerous awards for its Welsh sea salt including a Great Taste award-winning Oak Smoked Water.

Sam Rowlands AS yn ymweld â busnes arobryn yn y gogledd

Mae Sam Rowlands, yr Aelod Rhanbarthol o Senedd Cymru dros Ogledd Cymru, wedi bod i weld â’i lygaid ei hun sut mae datblygiad newydd o'r radd flaenaf cynhyrchydd halen o Ynys Môn i gynhyrchu bwyd mwg yn mynd rhagddo.

Yn ddiweddar, aeth Mr Rowlands, sy’n cefnogi cynhyrchwyr bwyd a diod o Gymru yn frwd, i ymweld â safle Halen Môn Halen Môn ym Mrynsiencyn i weld yr uned newydd sydd wedi’i hadeiladu’n bwrpasol.

Meddai:

Roeddwn i’n falch iawn o gael y cyfle i ymweld â'r busnes hynod lwyddiannus a thrawiadol hwn unwaith eto sy'n parhau i fynd o nerth i nerth.

Dangoswyd i mi ble mae gwaith yn mynd rhagddo ar yr adeilad ar gyfer y cyfleuster newydd i gynhyrchu bwyd mwg, sy'n fuddsoddiad sylweddol i'r cwmni cynhyrchu halen.

Roedd hi’n wych cael sgwrs â'r Rheolwr Gyfarwyddwr, Alison Lea-Wilson, a ddangosodd  y safle i mi ac esbonio sut y byddai'r datblygiad newydd yn gwella effeithlonrwydd gweithredol ac yn helpu datblygu ac arloesi cynnyrch yn y dyfodol.

Mae'n dda gweld busnes mor llwyddiannus yn parhau i ehangu ac esblygu gan roi Ynys Môn a Gogledd Cymru yn gadarn ar fap y cynhyrchwyr bwyd.

Lansiwyd Halen Môn am y tro cyntaf yn 2008 ac mae'n enwog am gynhyrchu halen môr Cymreig organig wedi'i gynaeafu â llaw. Caiff ei gynhyrchu o ddŵr môr Ynys Môn a dim byd arall o gwbl

Mae'r halen môr pur yn cael ei gynaeafu â llaw o ddyfroedd crisial clir Môr Iwerddon ac mae'r ymrwymiad hwn i ansawdd wedi ennill cydnabyddiaeth iddyn nhw gan rai o'r sefydliadau uchaf eu parch yn y diwydiant bwyd a diod, gan gynnwys The Guild of Fine Food.

Mae'r cwmni wedi derbyn nifer o wobrau am ei halen môr Cymreig, gan gynnwys Dŵr Mwg Derw sydd wedi ennill gwobr Great Taste.
