Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, has been finding out for himself why a Wrexham kebab house has been voted the best in Wales.
Chip-o-Dee in Wrexham, a highly acclaimed, award-winning takeaway, has just been crowned ‘Best Kebab Shop in Wales’ at the 2026 British Kebab Awards
Mr Rowlands, who has visited the takeaway said:
I am absolutely delighted to hear that a Wrexham eatery has received national acclaim and congratulations must go to owner, Haci Deniz, for doing so well in this prestigious competition.
I am always happy to support local businesses when they enter competitions and I have previously voted for Haci when his takeaway was highly commended in this category last year.
I enjoyed sampling some of his tasty award winning dishes on my visit and it is really great to see all his hard work paying off.
Haci, is well known in the city for his charitable efforts and has worked hard since 2020 to build up his popular takeaway. The award is well deserved.
The British Kebab Awards recognises and champions the efforts of local kebab takeaways and restaurants across the nation. It has been running for 14 years and is a true celebration of the industry.
Chip-o-Dee, Wrexham, which is celebrated for its fresh, high-quality ingredients, including crispy doner meat, fresh salads, and a variety of homemade sauces and dishes like salt and pepper chips was highly commended in the competition in the Best Kebab House in Wales category last year but has gone one better for 2026.

Mae Sam Rowlands, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros Ogledd Cymru, wedi bod yn darganfod drosto'i hun pam mai siop gebabs yn Wrecsam yw’r orau yng Nghymru.
Mae Chip-o-Dee yn Wrecsam, siop tecawê glodwiw ac arobryn, newydd gael ei choroni'n 'Siop Gebabs Orau Cymru' yng Ngwobrau Cebabs Prydain 2026.
Meddai Mr Rowlands, sydd wedi ymweld â'r siop:
Rwy'n falch iawn o glywed bod lle bwyd yn Wrecsam wedi derbyn clod cenedlaethol a rhaid llongyfarch y perchennog, Haci Deniz, am wneud cystal yn y gystadleuaeth fawreddog hon.
Rydw i bob amser yn hapus i gefnogi busnesau lleol pan fyddan nhw’n cymryd rhan mewn cystadlaethau a dwi wedi pleidleisio dros Haci o'r blaen pan gafodd glod mawr yn y categori hwn y llynedd.
Fe wnes i fwynhau blasu rhai o'i brydau blasus arobryn wrth ymweld â nhw ac mae'n wych gweld ei holl waith caled yn dwyn ffrwyth.
Mae Haci’n adnabyddus yn y ddinas am ei ymdrechion elusennol ac mae wedi gweithio'n galed ers 2020 i ddatblygu ei siop tecawê boblogaidd. Mae'r wobr yn un haeddiannol iawn.
Mae Gwobrau Cebabs Prydain yn cydnabod ac yn hyrwyddo ymdrechion siopau tecawê a bwytai cebabs lleol ledled y genedl. Mae wedi ar agor ers 14 mlynedd ac mae'n ddathliad go iawn o'r diwydiant.
Cafodd Chip-o-Dee, Wrecsam, sy'n enwog am ei gynhwysion ffres o ansawdd uchel, gan gynnwys ei gig doner crensiog, salad ffres, ac amrywiaeth o sawsiau a’i sglodion cartref, fel ei sglodion pupur a halen, glod uchel yn y gystadleuaeth yn y categori Siop Gebabs Orau Cymru y llynedd ond mae wedi mynd gam ymhellach yn 2026.
