Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, has been seeing at first hand how residents have settled into their new home.
Mr Rowlands was recently shown around Ty Croes Atti, Flintshire County Council’s newest care home built on the site of the former Flint Cottage Hospital.
He said:
I was delighted to have been given the opportunity to look around this state-of-the art modern facility and meet some of the hard working caring team and speak to residents who have recently moved in.
This £18 million development was impressive and it is good to see this commitment to provide high-quality care for older people in the community.
The home officially opened last December and already has a very friendly welcoming vibe about the place with staff and residents enjoying living and working in the new facility.
The Ty Croes Atti project, which represents a significant investment in Flintshire's care infrastructure, is a partnership between Flintshire County Council, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Willmott Dixon and Welsh Government.
The opening of Ty Croes Atti, located on Cornist Road on the site of the former Flint Cottage Hospital, represents a significant investment in Flintshire’s social care, ensuring older people and those in need of support have access to modern, local care services.
The three-storey 56 bed residential facility provides care for older people, specialised dementia care, and assessment-to-discharge support services, replacing and expanding an existing 31-bed care home in the area.

Roeddwn i wrth fy modd yn cael y cyfle i edrych o gwmpas y cyfleuster modern hwn a chwrdd â rhai o'r tîm gofalgar sy'n gweithio'n galed, ac i siarad â thrigolion sydd wedi symud i mewn yn ddiweddar.
Roedd y datblygiad £18 miliwn hwn yn drawiadol iawn ac mae'n dda gweld yr ymrwymiad hwn i ddarparu gofal o ansawdd uchel i bobl hŷn yn y gymuned.
Agorodd y cartref yn swyddogol fis Rhagfyr diwethaf ac mae yno eisoes awyrgylch croesawgar iawn gyda staff a phreswylwyr yn mwynhau byw a gweithio yn y cyfleuster newydd.
