Sam Rowlands

Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is delighted to see the continuation of a council initiative in Flintshire.

Mr Rowlands, Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Finance, supports the Community Chest scheme funded by Flintshire County Council and administered by Flintshire Local Voluntary Council.

He said:

I am delighted to back this wonderful initiative. Schemes like these have a great impact on our communities making them more appealing to us all.

I am a great supporter of any schemes which are aimed at helping local communities and enhancing the experience for residents.

It is great to see that over 300 grants have already been awarded and I would urge anyone who has a particular project in mind and needs some funding to apply.

Flintshire County Council has supported the third sector for many years through its Community Chest grant. The scheme offers small grants up to £1,000 to help projects and activities that work to enrich the local Flintshire community and its residents.

The Community Chest scheme is funded by Flintshire County Council and since 2015 it has been administered by Flintshire Local Voluntary Council (FLVC).

Over 300 grants have been awarded from the scheme and has supported a wide range of third sector groups and activities including sports and activity clubs, childcare organisations, training courses, and community facilities such as village halls.

In July 2024, Members of the Council supported the continuation of the Community Chest grant funding scheme, subject to a review to be conducted in 2024/25.

Following this review, changes have been made to the application form to assist organisations on what to include when applying to enable a more efficient process.

Damian Hughes, Corporate Manager, Capital Programme and Assets said:

It’s great to see so many organisations benefitting from this scheme to do good in our communities.

Sam Rowlands AS yn croesawu mwy o gyllid ar gyfer prosiectau cymunedol

Mae Sam Rowlands, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros y Gogledd, yn falch iawn o weld parhad menter gan y cyngor yn Sir y Fflint.

Mae Mr Rowlands, Ysgrifennydd Cabinet yr Wrthblaid dros Gyllid, yn cefnogi'r cynllun Cist Gymunedol a ariennir gan Gyngor Sir y Fflint ac a weinyddir gan Gyngor Gwirfoddol Lleol Sir y Fflint.

Meddai:

Rwy'n falch iawn o gefnogi'r fenter wych hon. Mae cynlluniau o’r fath yn cael effaith fawr ar ein cymunedau, gan eu gwneud yn fwy deniadol i ni i gyd.

Rwy'n cefnogi i’r carn unrhyw gynlluniau sy’n ceisio helpu cymunedau lleol a gwella'r profiad i drigolion.

Mae'n wych gweld bod dros 300 o grantiau eisoes wedi'u dyfarnu a byddwn yn annog unrhyw un sydd â phrosiect penodol mewn golwg ac sydd angen rhywfaint o gyllid i wneud cais.

Mae Cyngor Sir y Fflint wedi cefnogi'r trydydd sector ers blynyddoedd lawer drwy ei grant Cist Gymunedol. Mae'r cynllun yn cynnig grantiau bach hyd at £1,000 i helpu prosiectau a gweithgareddau sy'n gweithio i gyfoethogi cymuned leol Sir y Fflint a'i thrigolion lleol.

Mae'r cynllun Cist Gymunedol yn cael ei ariannu gan Gyngor Sir y Fflint ac ers 2015 mae wedi cael ei weinyddu gan Gyngor Gwirfoddol Lleol Sir y Fflint (FLVC).

Mae dros 300 o grantiau wedi'u dyfarnu gan y cynllun sydd wedi cefnogi ystod eang o grwpiau a gweithgareddau trydydd sector gan gynnwys clybiau chwaraeon a gweithgareddau, sefydliadau gofal plant, cyrsiau hyfforddi, a chyfleusterau cymunedol fel neuaddau pentref.

Ym mis Gorffennaf 2024, cefnogodd Aelodau'r Cyngor barhad cynllun cyllido grantiau y Gist Gymunedol, yn amodol ar adolygiad i'w gynnal yn 2024/25.

Yn dilyn yr adolygiad hwn, mae newidiadau wedi'u gwneud i'r ffurflen gais i gynorthwyo sefydliadau i ddeall beth i’w gynnwys wrth wneud cais, gan sicrhau proses fwy effeithlon.

Meddai Damian Hughes, Rheolwr Corfforaethol y Rhaglen Gyfalaf ac Asedau:

Mae'n wych gweld cymaint o sefydliadau'n elwa ar y cynllun hwn er budd ein cymunedau.

Mae rhagor o fanylion am y Gist Gymunedol ar gael ar wefan y Cyngor: https://www.siryfflint.gov.uk/cy/Resident/Funding-Opportunities/Community-Chest-Grant.aspx
