Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales has welcomed pupils from Flintshire, to Cardiff.
During the visit, Mr Rowlands, Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Finance, spoke briefly about his role as a member of the Senedd and took questions from his young visitors.
He said:
It was fantastic to welcome the pupils and staff from Ysgol Estyn and talk to them about what we do as members of the Welsh Parliament.
It was great to see them so enthusiastic about visiting the Senedd and I was pleased to see them asking me some challenging questions about local and national issues.
I think it is so important that children and young people learn more about politics and the Welsh Parliament, and I would certainly encourage other schools from North Wales to come down and visit the Senedd!
Ysgol Estyn is a primary school in Hope village, Flintshire, which provides learning experiences for over 200 pupils aged from three - 11 years old.
At Ysgol Estyn children are taught predominantly through the medium of English, but they also promote Welsh heritage and the Welsh language.
Children celebrate the Welsh language, culture and heritage throughout their work and through dedicated events such as ‘Our Wonderful Wales’ week. During their time in KS2, children have the opportunity to attend residential trips to Cardiff to fully immerse themselves in the Welsh heritage. Also to PGL outdoor adventure centre, where they are given the opportunity to step out of their comfort zone, face challenges and team build with their friends.

Roedd hi’n wych croesawu'r disgyblion a'r staff o Ysgol Estyn a siarad â nhw am yr hyn rydyn ni'n ei wneud fel Aelodau o’r Senedd.
Roedd hi’n wych eu gweld mor frwdfrydig am ymweld â'r Senedd ac roeddwn i'n falch o'u gweld yn gofyn cwestiynau heriol i mi am faterion lleol a chenedlaethol.
Rwy'n credu ei bod hi mor bwysig bod plant a phobl ifanc yn dysgu mwy am wleidyddiaeth a’r Senedd, a byddwn yn sicr yn annog ysgolion eraill o’r Gogledd i ddod i lawr i ymweld â'r Senedd!
Mae Ysgol Estyn yn ysgol gynradd ym mhentref yr Hôb, Sir y Fflint, sy'n darparu profiadau dysgu i dros 200 o ddisgyblion rhwng tair ac 11 oed.
Yn Ysgol Estyn mae plant yn cael eu haddysgu yn bennaf trwy gyfrwng y Saesneg, ond maen nhw hefyd yn hyrwyddo treftadaeth Gymreig a'r Gymraeg.

Yn ystod eu hamser yn CA2, mae plant yn cael cyfle i fynychu teithiau preswyl i Gaerdydd i ymgolli'n llawn yn y dreftadaeth Gymreig.
